John McCrea

John McCrea is a big name in comics, sure, and an excellent artist. How is he involved in Transformers? -- you might be asking. Easily answered: he was behind the Titan Magazine's Transformers Animated strips, for four issues. He also illustrated a 'How to Draw...' guide, part of the Titan UK comic book for kids, based this time on the live action film designs. He returned to our radars in 2019/2020 by providing variant covers for Marvel's new Death's Head series, along that other cover artist Nick Roche, and regular artist Kei Zama, both well known names in our land of robots.

Beside these ventures into robots, McCrea started his political comics work in 1989, working with Garth Ennis on Troubled Souls, in Crisis, and its sequel For a Few Troubles More. In 1993 he stepped into mainstream US comics with The Demon, and since then has worked on pretty much every book you can think of, from Marvel, to DC/Vertigo, to 2000AD, to IDW and Dark Horse, as well as independent productions and creator-owned titles.
