We’ve loved our time at the University of Reading. The staff have been a joy to work with and helped to make our southern mini-con a fast favourite for attendees and crew alike.
A few years on, and with demand rising, we’ve decided it’s time to upgrade our facilities… and big plans call for a big venue!
TFNationals – welcome to STEAM!

STEAM
STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway, is a fantastic events facility housed in a Grade II listed building. With a dedicated events team, in-house audio/visual tech and a large amount of floorspace to play with, we’re confident STEAM will be a big hit with TFNationals!
As the name suggests, the venue also houses the Museum of Great Western Railway, providing an extra opportunity for a great day out!
STEAM is located a short stroll from Swindon’s main railway station; with direct services for Bristol, Cardiff and Central London, the location is well-suited for those travelling in for the convention.

The convention is scheduled to take place on Saturday 21st November 2026 at STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway.
TFN: Swindon is a satellite convention which is being designed to give you everything you love about TFNation, in a slightly smaller package. Intended to complement the larger, Summer convention, our satellite shows give attendees another opportunity to meet friends, add to their collections, and celebrate those big fighting robots from Cybertron!
TFN: Swindon replaces TFN: Reading in our calendar, but sits alongside our Birmingham and Manchester events – we don’t expect attendees to travel to every event we host, so please don't feel like you must; but if you are able to attend, it'd be brilliant to see you!
Our satellite shows are particularly good for local fans and new attendees wishing to try out a more intimate event before visiting our big summer showpiece – but of course, everybody is welcome!
Ticket sales will open at 12:00 noon (UK Time) on Saturday 25th April 2026.

Just like Manchester, TFN: Swindon will be a limited capacity event. Most TFNation events routinely sell out these days, so don’t wait around if you’d like to attend!

Just a short stroll from Swindon Railway Station, STEAM is an impressive events facility which we believe will be a great fit for TFNation!
Built to house massive steam trains, The Great Western Hall is almost comparable in size to our summer trader hall (The Hilton Birmingham Metropole’s Monarch Suite). So there’ll be room for us to welcome a varied and interesting array of traders and forge artists.
The venue is wheelchair accessible, with space for wide aisles and comfortable room for lots of seating for panels.
The venue is also conveniently located next door to Designer Outlet Swindon, meaning we’ll have lots of shops and restaurants right on our doorstep. (That also means lots of parking options nearby too!)

Just a short walk away you’ll find the local bus terminus and for rail travellers, Swindon Station.
Located about halfway between Central London and Cardiff, Swindon station boasts great, direct travel options, with London Paddington and Cardiff Central both just under an hour away.
The station also has great links to Reading, Bristol Temple Meads, Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa. Even attendees travelling from the north have a variety of good options available to them.
For international attendees, the venue is located within a train ride of numerous options, including Bristol Airport and London Heathrow Airport.

Located conveniently on-site, Platform One Café is a fantastic one-stop-shop for breakfast, lunch and of course, hanging out with bots and friends!
With friendly prices to match the equally friendly atmosphere, we can imagine TFNationals really enjoying this space.

Designer Outlet Swindon (situated conveniently across the road) houses familiar favourites such as Costa Coffee, Five Guys, Greggs, KFC, Krispy Kreme, Pizza Express, Slim Chickens, Starbucks, Subway, Wagamama and more.
