TFNationals, you're in for an absolute treat today!

Before we get started, everyone here at team TFN would like to give a massive thank you to our friends over at Hasbro Pulse who have very kindly sent us this incredible figure to share with you all. Make sure to stay until the end for some exciting news!

As we all know, this year marks something very special – the 40ᵗʰ anniversary of the 1986 movie! That means it's been 40 years of the Dinobots, which means 40 years of Grimlock. And so, as we launch into the Apology Tour, let's look at the brand-new Age of Extinction Titan Class Grimlock!

The box is sizeable, already showing us just how big this figure is. The front features artwork of Grimlock from the Age of Extinction movie, and pictures of the actual figure on the back, which displays both root mode and alt mode. Once opened, we find Grimlock carefully secured in a plain cardboard tray and with him is a bag of parts which will be used to complete his full look.

Adding the finishing touches to Grimlock is straight forward. In the bag that sits separate from the figure, there are two teeth pieces that easily slot into the T-Rex shoulder guards, which will make up Grimlock's head in his dino mode. There are also a few spikes to flip up before he's ready: the one on his helm is easy to position, as well as the two on his feet. The last two are hidden behind the moveable shin guards which can be opened through the hinges on the side of the figures' legs.

With Grimlock himself now ready, it's time for the finishing touches! Grimlock's signature spiked hand-club easily snaps on and off, which makes such a good change to his Studio Series Leader Class model where it's part of the figure and unable to be taken off. Grimlock's second weapon, a large mace, comes in five separate pieces that are also very straightforward to assemble. With the position of the figure's hands, this weapon can be posed to be held as either single or double-handed. When either weapon isn't in use, there are tabs on Grimlock's back to mount them on.

Once completed, it's time to take in the sheer size of this figure. Grimlock stands at a staggering 15 inches tall – far taller than any other Studio Series figure, rivalled only by the Age of the Primes Titan Class Optimus Prime figure. Most of the figures' articulation is found in the arms and legs: the shoulders are ratcheted with joints at the wrist and elbow, and a bicep which can be swivelled, as well as a small extra joint found on the hands which allows for Grimlock's grip to be opened or closed. The joints in the legs have clearly been carefully designed to ensure this hefty figure stays well-supported while being posed. The hips and knees are both ratcheted, with another swivel mechanic on the thighs, and the ankles are able to be moved side-to-side as well as up and down. Grimlock's waist can be rotated to move his upper body left or right, the same movement as his head, which also has limited movement forward and back.

Of course, the staple of any Transformers figure is the transformation itself. This figure has 59 steps to follow before Grimlock can be admired in his iconic dino mode. While smaller than his root mode, the size is no less impressive as he now stands at about 27 inches long from head to tail. The transformation process is well thought out, simplified where possible, and overall a very fun challenge! We especially love how no part is wasted: even Grimlock's mace becomes his tail.

This is such an incredible figure which really has to be seen in person to appreciate both Grimlock's size and the careful attention to detail, surely a must-have for movie fans and Transformers collectors alike. The Titan Class Grimlock really lives up to his reputation as King of the Dinobots!
