TFNation knows how to play the hits, and we know that TFNationals love the creators who make them feel things through Transformers stories – so who better for our 2026 event, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first big Cybertronian gutpunch (they’re making a whole Apology Tour!), than returning guest, writer and critic James Roberts!

Roberts’ name first appeared in a Transformers comic in the letters pages, specifically the Marvel UK ones, in four separate issues. He has never stopped writing since, co-authoring some of the best-received IDW comics stories, from Last Stand of the Wreckers to More than Meets the Eye and Lost Light.

Roberts has since moved into reviewing all the details of those stories for the fans who are into that sort of thing with The MTMTE Notebooks, and continuing in his pursuit of chronicling fandom spaces with Generation Mechs (which focuses on the 90s) and whatever he’s cooking up next...

James Roberts will be joining us for TFNation 2026, once he can make it from behind the giant pile of boxes he’s built. Stay tuned for more details on the TFNation website -- where All Are One!

(Please note: TFNation 2026 is a limited capacity event, which we expect to be busy; all convention areas are subject to capacity limits and all advertised guests, traders, forge artists, exhibitors, panels and activities are subject to change without notice. Terms and Conditions of sale apply on this small world and all others, even those missing a moonbase or two!)
